Welcome to a blog post on one of the most luxurious places I’ve stayed – The Cliff House Hotel, Ardmore! You may have seen last weekend on my Instagram feed and stories that I was very lucky to stay here and I can’t recommend it enough. If it is on your list of somewhere to visit in Ireland push it to the top.
We arrived early afternoon just in time for lunch, where we were greeted with valet parking and a kind gentleman to take our luggage. We knew it was going to be good from the start. From here we were brought up to our terrace suite which I can honestly say was the most impressive room I’ve stayed in.
Spanning over two floors, the Beach House room is decorated in different shades of blue emulating the view of the sea from the balcony which was sparkling in the sun!
It’s important to note check in is from 3pm and check out is 12pm. However, from the beginning of the day of your arrival to end of the day you check out you are a guest at the Cliff House Hotel. This means while you may not be in your room outside of these times you have full access to all the facilities the hotel offers including the spa which is open from 8am to 8pm. This was stressed when we were making our booking and I thought it was so welcoming.
Once we managed to tear ourselves away from our suite we headed down to the bar for some lunch. We had dinner booked quite early so I opted for something light in the Beetroot and Goats Cheese salad, obviously it was delicious.
Taking full advantage of the weather (so lucky!!) we went for a walk along the cliff and admired the views.
Next up – the spa. We booked in for a back and scalp massage late afternoon but headed down a little early. It’s important to note the spa is open to all guests even if you don’t have a treatment booked.
Voya is one of my favourite brands when it comes to spa products and this is what the Cliff House use. Their products are gentle on the skin and don’t cause irritation if you have sensitive skin like mine.
Feeling refreshed from the spa we went back to the room to get ready for dinner in the House Restaurant. Boasting an award winning Michelin-Star restaurant and five star service it was the ultimate dining experience. Each course was a visual work of art and tasted even better.
The next morning I got up around 8:30am and headed back to the spa soaking up the last little bit of luxury before heading to breakfast and then checking out. For this stay I was lucky to have a voucher that I was kindly given for Christmas. On this occasion we went all out but it’s important to note you can cut corners to make it less expensive and I’m sure it would be just as luxurious. You could go mid-week, eat in the bar, don’t have a treatment etc. Where there’s a will there’s a way, and just remember everyone deserves a treat once in awhile!
