The Conrad Bali located in Nusa Dua has been named Indonesia’s leading resort and has also received Hilton Honors. Only a 30 minute taxi ride from the airport, it was the perfect first stop for us as we had just flown 10 hours from Dubai and were in much need of some relaxation.
It boasts a selection of pools with a huge choice of sun loungers – perfect for working on that golden tan. If you would like to indulge in a massage or two mid-tanning you don’t have to look too far!
All of this sounds great but you’re probably thinking about the cost. This is the best bit! In a lot of resorts in Bali they offer deals such as the one we received – stay 4 nights, get 2 free. This is a huge bonus and breakfast was also included! Make sure to shop around for these and if booking through a travel agent mention it to them. Often travel agents get better deals.
We booked through Trailfinders which meant the following morning after we arrived a guide was there to meet us suggesting what trips to do, booking our ferry to Lombok (read about this later) etc. Don’t worry if you don’t book through a travel agent though as the majority of the hotels provide tours or can organise them for you.
We ate in 3 (Eight Degrees South, Rin & Azure Bar) of the 5 restaurants at the Conrad and they were all to a high standard. Eight Degrees South was my pick of the three for the evening and for lunch I would definitely recommend a Caesar Salad from Azure Bar accompanied by one of their signature cocktails!
Our room had a garden view and was in close proximity to everything which is not always the case in these large resorts. It slept 3 people, boasted a bathroom big enough for 3 girls to do their make-up in (not easily done) and was so comfortable.
Overall I would highly recommend staying at the Conrad Bali. It provides the perfect balance between activity and relaxation catering for all needs. We left feeling relaxed and happy, ready to hit the high seas to Lombok.
